The Omaha AEYC is sponsoring one early childhood professional and/or student to attend the NAEYC National Conference. The award will used for conference registration and attendance costs, such as lodging, travel, and meals.   

 

Requirements and Funding:

• Omaha AEYC will pay the registration fee, lodging and airfare and a stipend for meals and travel up to $1500 total.

 

Eligibility:

This award recognizes motivated Omaha AEYC members who are dedicated to advancing, advocating and promoting healthy development and learning for young children.  Nominees will be professionals or students who:

• Are members of the Omaha AEYC at the time of application submission. 

• Work and/or volunteer (if a student, as part of coursework) in the Omaha area supporting high quality early education efforts for children birth-8. 

• Are willing to share what he/she learns from the NAEYC National Conference with the Omaha early childhood community.

• Individuals from all sectors- government agencies, nonprofits, corporations, Head Start, Colleges and Universities, or the private sector - are eligible for this award. 

 

Nomination Submission:

Potential nominees can submit their own nomination or nominate someone.  The nomination submission will include:

 

• A short biography of the nominee

• A short description about how the nominee will share information he/she gained at the NAEYC National Conference with the Omaha early childhood community and/or how his/her attendance at the conference will benefit the Omaha early childhood community.

• Contact information for both the nominee and the nominator

 

Selection Process:

• Nomination letters are vetted by the Conference Committee comprised of Omaha AEYC Governing Board members who will narrow the pool to qualified nominations and send the selections to the Omaha AEYC Governing Board.  The Omaha AEYC Governing Board will select the winner.

• The winner will be contacted by late September.  All nominees will be notified via email when the final selection is made. 

• A public announcement will be made through the Omaha AEYC Facebook page, the ELC Newsletter, and possible other media outlets.
